The Shutter protocol is LIVE on Gnosis Chain mainnet, featuring an encrypted mempool powered by the Shutter Network. This integration revolutionizes transaction security and decentralized finance (DeFi) on Gnosis Chain.

The launch of the Shutterized Gnosis Chain is a significant milestone and a major innovation in blockchain technology. Martin Köppelmann, co-founder of Gnosis, was instrumental in developing the Shutterized Beacon Chain concept, which serves as the foundation for today's advanced Shutter technology.

Miner-extractable value (MEV) and front running are widely acknowledged as fundamental challenges in the blockchain space. The term MEV was coined by Phil Daian et al. and describes revenue that block producers can extract by selecting, injecting, ordering, and censoring transactions. MEV is extremely harmful for users and poses a major obstacle to mainstream adoption.

A key subset of MEV is revenue from front running, an illegal practice in traditional markets but uncontrolled in crypto. In short, front runners monitor the network for valuable transactions, then send their own transaction first by paying higher gas fees.

The Shutterized Gnosis Chain allows users to send encrypted transactions that protects them from front runners. By encrypting transaction details, the Shutterized Gnosis Chain ensures that all transactions are treated equally. Validators cannot see the details of pending transactions, which prevents any form of preferential treatment or manipulation.

By mitigating the risks associated with MEV, the Shutterized Gnosis Chain enhances security and improves the user experience. Users can confidently engage in trades, knowing their transactions will be processed fairly and securely. This trust is crucial for the continued growth and adoption of Gnosis Chain, as it encourages more users and developers to participate in the ecosystem.

The launch of the Shutterized Gnosis Chain furthers the Gnosis 3.0 vision of creating a collective of aligned projects revolutionizing payment infrastructure to make decentralized financial tools accessible and usable for all.
